Waterpunk
A cozy village. A valley full of running water. Raiders who want both, and leave a mess.
Every stream, pond and waterfall in the valley is simulated. Dam it, dig it, raise the ground under it and store it. Water wheels turn axles, and axles drive hammer traps, pumps and mills. Your villagers do the work: they farm, mill, bake, fish, cut timber and mine ore. When the alarm bell rings, they pick up swords.
Playable on mobile: Waterpunk plays entirely by touch in your phone's browser. Tap a tool, then tap or drag on the ground to use it. Drag with two fingers to look around, pinch to zoom and twist to turn. There's an Android download too.
What's in the valley
- Water you can shape: dams and watertight walls (tap Dam again to build them taller), water tanks, aqueducts, canal locks, and stilted platforms that hold water up high while villagers walk underneath.
- Power from the river: water wheels, axles and corner gears carry power to hammer traps and pumps.
- A working village: wheat fields, a windmill and a bakery; fishermen, gatherers, orchards, lumberjacks and foresters; a clay pit, a mine, a smithy and an armory. Villagers eat from your stores and go hungry when they're empty.
- Raids: goblins, trolls, demons, werewolves and drakes, some led by a goddess who gives her wave a gift while she lives. Soldiers rank up the longer they serve: a breastplate, then a helmet, then full armor and a shield.
- Wandering goddesses: now and then a goddess strolls through the valley. While she's there she brings a blessing or a curse.
- Day and night: the village lights up after dark.
- A changing land: still, shallow water turns the ground to swamp, and dry ground far from water turns to desert.

How AI made this game
Made for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2.
- Code: written with Claude Code (Anthropic's Claude), in Rust with the Bevy engine. That covers the water simulation, the villagers' jobs and pathfinding, building, combat, the changing land, the interface and the Android port.
- 3D models: every building, villager, raider and goddess was modeled by Claude writing Blender Python scripts, working from concept sheets the developer generated with gpt-image.
- Textures: the ground is painted by script; the walls and some terrain come from the developer's gpt-image sheets.
- Animation: the developer's Mixamo clips, fitted to the game's own rig.
- Music: generated with Suno (Pro subscription).
- Sound effects, logo and the alarm bell: made by the developer.
- Trailer: filmed in the game by script and cut to the game's Suno music.
